London’s First Baptist Church! “Reaching Out To Share God’s Love ”
Last years’s Summer Mission season was extraordinary for LFBC! The Lord kept us all on the North American continent this year but not all within our own borders. He provided opportunities to “Go and make disciples” in Canada, Montana, Texas and our own beloved Arkansas.  The Mission Team trips described below were blessed in amazing ways and we are asking the Lord for even greater things during the Acts 1:8 One Day Mission Trip sponsored by our Arkansas Baptist State Convention this year! (push ‘play’) Team Canada’ kicked off LFBC Missions 2014 as they joined with Russellville Second to partner with Rendezvous Church in the city of Toronto.  The team left Arkansas on June 27th and returned July 6th. While in Toronto they ministeried at various soccer camps, helped the Rendezvous church with the preliminaries of a possible church plant in Ukraine, and worked with the Canadian National Convention at two special events.  Additional missions possibilities included ministering in coffee shops and working with the Salvation Army. On July 5th, ‘Team Montana’ departed from London on a return journey to the Ft. Belknap Reservation in northern Montana.  This was the second year we were invited to partner with First Baptist Lavaca to reach out to some of the most ‘overlooked’ people in our nation. While on the Rez, the teams were involved in everything from cutting firewood to active gospel presentations in the Gospel Tent.  Women’s ministries included manicures and pedicures as well the chance to shop in the free ‘Blessing Stores’ that were be set up in four different locations.  More than 100 adult Native Americans prayed to recieve Chhrist’s salvation during this ministry effort.   On July 26th The full ‘Student Missions Team’ returned to Arlington, Texas for a repeat of one of their most memorable mission trips ever.  ‘Mission Arlington’ has been reaching out to marginalized population in the Metroplex for more than twenty years. With the aid of mission volunteers from all over the country, this wonderful organization presents the Gospel in every way imaginable.  It is this willingness to think ‘outside the box’ that has kept Mission Arlington and groups like our Missions Team so successful for so many years. El Dorado wasthe destiation for this years State Convention sponsored Acts 1:8 Iniative. Several folks from LFBC/FRBC partnered with our sister churches from around the state to minister to those in need and share the Gospel with those whom God loves.  Clicking the picture on the left will take you to the website where you can sign up online, gather more information, and much more. (or you can get a form at church!) The cost is only 10 dollars and includes lunch!  As Bro. Danny is fond of saying, Where else can you get deal like that?!”  We will have forms available in the North Foyer for those who would rather grab one while at church.  More info will become available as the mission date approaches. Of course, for all true believers, doing missions will never be limited to specific times of the year or small geographic locations.  That is why we at LFBC proudly participate in the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention. Through our regular tithes and personal giving, we are able to support local, state, national, and and international missions throughout the year. The 22 minute video below is provided by the SBC and gives an indepth look at the formation and work of the CP.  Sit back and learn some really cool stuff!
